The Huntington library, art collections and botanical gardens. I visited on a warm day with a few twizzlers in hand and chatting with my new friend. There are so many people to get to know and sometimes it takes time to build meaningful friendships, but the good company keeps us feeling uplifted and growing. I feel good to share and let people know I care :).
The gardens were so beautiful. My favorites were the Japanese garden and the desert section. I’m from the southwest and it felt like home while walking through the garden. Also, there’s so much more plantlife I hadn’t recognized that I realized exist all over the world. My view is so tiny when just only knowing my local native plants, and it seemed like I was encountering exotic relatives of southwest plants. Just think, people have their own relationships and histories with these plants not to mention animal life. I wonder if the plants are missing out on symbiotic relationships with other life forms.
